Lost

In my book, there is no stronger first season than the TV show Lost. It's a shame the writers created so many mysteries that they couldn't possibly answer. Viewers never got convincing explanations later in the series to a lot of mysterious elements witnessed earlier (which may have tarnished the series rating from imdb, which is lower than the combined episode rating, a rare occurrence). But if you are looking for a serialized plot that offers non-stop twists and turns, and you don't mind feeling confused, Lost might be for you. Just skip the flashbacks of secondary characters, since chances are they will die soon anyway!
